City item tool

The City Item tool is used to place City Items in your model.

You can choose the City Item Tool by clicking on the City Item Tool button on the CityCAD Toolbar.

Alternatively, if you are working in the Main Display Window and the last mouse click you made was in the 3D window, then press the keyboard shortcut 'I' to choose the City Item tool.

To Add a City Item

In the City Item Properties panel, choose the settings for the item you want to add.

Move the mouse cursor into the main display window - you will see an image of the item you are about to add. Click once to place a City Item at the position of the mouse cursor.

You can click again to place multiple instances of the same City Item.

Hint - Use Mouse-Wheel Rotate

Before a City Item is placed, you can hold down the Ctrl key and scroll the mouse wheel up and down to rotate the item before you click to place it. This changes the default orientation, which can be useful if placing several items at a time such as houses along a road.

Note that City Items will snap according to your current Snap preferences.

Also, the location you click at will be the location of the Base Point of your City Item. For more information about the base point, please see Importing DXF City Items
