CityCAD Online Help
The Tree Spray tool is used to instantly place more than one general trees (ie. not 'route trees') in your model.
You can choose the Tree Spray Tool by clicking on the Tree Spray Tool button on the CityCAD Toolbar.
Alternatively, if you are working in the Main Display Window and the last mouse click you made was in the 3D window, then press the keyboard shortcut 'Y' to choose the Tree tool.
In the Tree Properties panel, choose the settings for the tree spray you want to add.
Tree Sprays are rectangular - by adjusting the 'spread size', you are adjusting the length of one side of the square.
The 'Variation' settings control how much trees in the spray will vary from the Default Tree Properties. If you would like all trees to be the same size, for example, then drag the 'Height' and 'Width' sliders all the way to the left.
Move the mouse cursor into the main display window - you will see an image of the tree spray you are about to add.
Click once to place a tree spray at the position of the mouse cursor. Note that once you have done this, the trees are all treated as individual trees.
If you would like a different randomly generated arrangement of trees, right-click to regenerate the spray. You can do this any number of times before you left-click to actually place the trees.
Note that Trees will snap according to your current Snap preferences.
If you are using the Tree Spray Tool, you can use the following shortcuts:
